The Chamundi Hills are the most famous landmark of Mysore. The hill has a close association with the slaying of the demon Mahishasura. A temple dedicated to Goddess Chamundi stands at the top of this hill.Halfway up the hill is a majestic Nandi Statue. This is one of Mysore’s oldest icons and is carved from a single stone.
The Wax Museum and Sand Museum
These two museums are very popular with children. The wax museum showcases many different aspects of the culture of Karnataka with its max models. It is believed to hold the largest collection of musical instruments in Karnataka. The sand museum boasts of a number of different sand sculptures based on varying themes. The most popular amongst them are sculptures on Goddess Chamundi, Dasshera and the Bhagavad Gita.

From here, we head a little out of Mysore to visit Srirangapatna and the Srirangapatna Swamy Temple. After paying your obeisance to the Gods, we stop at the Daria Daulat Bagh. This palace is best-known for its teak wood construction.
Sri Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary
Spread over 40 acres of land the Sri Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary stands on an island in the middle of the Kaveri River. The sanctuary is home to hundreds of migratory birds and is a popular stop with locals and tourists alike. You can also enjoy boating around the island.

The Brindavan garden is known for its layout and beautiful musical fountains. The garden is spread over 60 acres and divided into three terraces. A musical show begins every evening at 6.30 where the fountains literally dance to music. From here, our car will drop you back to your hotel.
